About the Role

Introduction:

The Outreach and Research Programme of the Department of Paediatrics and Child Health supports large-scale, internationally funded research initiatives focused on improving maternal and child health outcomes. The Department works closely with global collaborators and manages complex clinical, academic, and research operations.

Responsibilities:

Specific responsibilities include to:

  • ensure proper identification and registration of patients at triage

  • supervise and monitor timely visits of participants for care and follow ups

  • monitor and report protocol deviations where needed

  • develop SoPs and manual of operation for clinical care

  • provide support and/or training to the research study staff as per the protocols and guidelines of study

  • ensure the completeness, proper filings, and archiving of the collected data (clinical or research)

  • develop and implement QA QC plan with documentation and reporting

  • manage available resources to ensure uninterrupted clinical care, coordinate care and referral as well enable research culture and integrity

  • train midwives and other care providers on safe obstetrics

  • report any observed technical or administrative issues with expediency to the clinical supervisor

Requirements:

You should have:

  • MBBS degree with MCPS / FCPS in Obs/Gyn preferably with additional certification

  • knowledge of Good Clinical Practices

  • at least 2 years of experience, preferably in field/Community/Obstetrics

  • sound clinical skills and knowledge of care of pregnant women in low-income communities highly organized and self-motivated

  • excellent interpersonal communication skills

  • ability to work in team

  • integrity and strong research ethics

  • excellent written and verbal communication skills in English

  • strong computer skills

  • willingness to work in Karachi field sites
