About the Role
Our client, a well-established learning institution, is seeking a
The successful candidate will serve as the lead educator and administrator, responsible for academic excellence, staff leadership, learner development, regulatory compliance, and stakeholder engagement.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Academic Leadership & Curriculum Management
- Guide and oversee effective implementation of the approved curriculum and syllabi
- Maintain high teaching and learning standards across the school
- Monitor lesson attendance, rescheduling, and learner progress
- Supervise preparation and use of schemes of work, lesson plans, and timetables
- Track learner progress, value addition, IEPs, and skills development records
- Promote continuous teacher professional development
School Administration & Governance
- Provide overall leadership in institutional administration
- Maintain accurate learner enrolment and staffing establishment records
- Issue job descriptions and performance targets to teaching staff
- Oversee teacher performance appraisal and analysis
- Manage school assets, records, and statutory documentation
- Ensure compliance with education laws, regulations, and policies
- Liaise with senior management and key stakeholders
- Resolve complaints and maintain proper records
People Management & Leadership
- Lead, mentor, coach, and motivate teaching staff
- Oversee onboarding, induction, and disciplinary processes
- Approve leave, offs, and emergency permissions
- Participate in school and departmental meetings
- Monitor staff attendance registers, duty rotas, and records
Health, Safety & Welfare
- Implement and monitor health and safety measures
- Coordinate fire drills, first aid arrangements, and emergency procedures
- Establish and support a Health & Safety Committee
- Ensure a clean, safe, and compliant learning environment
Stakeholder & Community Engagement
- Build strong relationships with learners, parents, staff, and stakeholders
- Maintain records of parental involvement and stakeholder engagement
- Liaise with regulatory and professional bodies (KNEC, KICD, MOE, SEMASE)
- Maintain visitors’ records and official correspondence
Co-Curricular Activities & Learner Development
- Support and participate in co-curricular and team-building activities
- Oversee clubs, patrons, awards, and learner achievements
- Act as a role model and mentor to learners and staff
