Part-time Assistant Trainer – Barista & Mixology at KCA University (KCAU)

Job Objective

The Part-Time Assistant Trainer - Barista & Mixology will be responsible for facilitating practical, industry-oriented training in mixology and barista skills, ensuring high-quality hands-on learning and an outstanding student experience.

Duties and Responsibilities

Deliver practical and theoretical training in mixology and barista skills through demonstrations, workshops, and supervised practice sessions.

Facilitate hands-on learning in beverage preparation, service standards, and customer experience.

Participate in the development, administration, and marking of practical and theoretical assessments.

Assist in developing training materials, schemes of work, and maintaining student performance and attendance records.

Provide guidance, mentorship, and feedback to support students' technical and professional growth.

Supervise students during practical sessions and ensure adherence to safety and hygiene standards.

Contribute to the continuous improvement of training content aligned with industry trends.

Maintain training equipment and ensure proper use of barista and mixology tools.

Participate in departmental meetings and institutional activities as required.

Represent the Institute professionally to students and industry stakeholders.

Qualifications And Experience

Diploma in Food and Beverage or related field from an accredited/recognised institution.

Certification in Mixology and/or Barista training is an added advantage.

Must be a registered Trainer with TVETA

Must have hands-on industry experience in mixology and/or barista practice

Strong flair in culinary presentations.

Experience in training or coaching in a hospitality setting is desirable.
