About the Role
Overview
The Nokia Learning Services group is seeking a talented optical training & certification professional to contribute to the optical network learning program. The optical learning portfolio is designed to equip industry professionals with the training and skills necessary to design, implement, manage, maintain, and automate optical networks, primarily based on the Nokia 1830 Photonic Service Switch (PSS) and the Global Express (GX) families. These networks are managed by the WaveSuite ecosystem and the Transcend Network Management System (TNMS).
Role
The learning portfolio encompasses a range of product-attached courses and a certification program featuring several certifications tailored to meet the demands of various optical networking roles. Furthermore, the topic of optical network automation is an emerging, high-potential theme that we aim to thoroughly develop in the coming months/years.
The successful candidate will play a key role in creating and delivering cutting-edge training materials, including courses, labs, exams, and self-paced learning assets. This role involves developing both fundamental and advanced educational materials, catering to both internal teams and external customers. Additionally, the candidate may be involved in course deliveries, both remotely and abroad, to support the course delivery team when necessary.

Responsibilities
The optical training & certification professional is expected to master new technology, stay abreast of industry best practices, and collaborate closely with other subject matter experts to develop material for all aspects of the learning program. This includes:
- Creation of needs assessments
- Definition of detailed course learning objectives
- Definition of course and lab exam requirements
- Development of course content, instructor guides, and lab guides
- Delivery of classes to various audiences globally
- Definition of instructor certification requirements
- Training and certifying other subject matter experts for course delivery
- Development of written and practical exams
- Definition of exam grading criteria
- Grading lab exams
- Participation in external-facing events delivering workshops, seminars, etc.
Requirements
Qualifications - Education and Certification Requirements
- Four-year university degree in Physics, Computer Science, Computer Engineering or equivalent experience.
- A Nokia optical certification such as the ONP, ONSE, ONDE or ONA or other industry-recognized optical certifications.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential. Fluency in English, both written and verbal, is required.
Experience:
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in the optical network technical support, R&D, PLM, Professional Services, or equivalent role
- A minimum of 5 years of experience with educational content development
- Experience with class delivery
- Experience using the Nokia equipment
- Experience with Nokia products such as the WaveSuite ecosystem and TNMS
