Job Description

The Product Pricing Specialist is responsible for delivering analytical and actuarial pricing support across Group Retirement Solutions, ensuring that pricing frameworks actively support the future product strategy and long-term sustainability of the portfolio.

This includes the enhancement of the governance structures around pricing and will also build and maintain robust management information, dashboards and insight frameworks.

Key Result Areas:

Strategic Pricing within Product Strategy:

  • Support the development and maintenance of pricing structures aligned to the approved product strategy and future product state.
  • Assess pricing implications of new and evolving product propositions, ensuring sustainability across different member, employer and servicing profiles.
  • Provide actuarial input into strategic trade‑offs.

Administration Loss Reduction and Cost‑to‑Serve Analysis:

  • Analyse drivers of costs across the product portfolio.
  • Use segmentation and product design inputs to monitor efficiency and sustainability.
  • Partner with Operations and Product teams to assess efficiency, including servicing intensity, transaction volumes and complexity drivers.

Digital Enablement and Efficiency Support:

  • Support financial and pricing analysis relating to the transition to digital servicing model and automation.
  • Quantify the financial impact of digital migration.
  • Provide insight into pricing structures or incentives that support behavioural shifts.

Actuarial Analysis and Insight Generation:

  • Perform pricing, profitability and scenario analysis to support decision‑making on product changes and efficiency initiatives.
  • Build and maintain actuarial and financial models to assess product performance under different pricing and cost scenarios.
  • Conduct impact analysis on member behaviour, employer decisions and portfolio outcomes resulting from pricing changes.

MI, Dashboards and Decision Support:

  • Design and maintain pricing and product performance dashboards, tracking key metrics.
  • Develop clear, decision‑useful insights linking product development, pricing actions and efficiency outcomes.
  • Provide structured analytical input into management, product and governance forums.

Stakeholder Collaboration and Enablement:

  • Collaborate closely across Product, Strategy, Distribution, Operations, Finance and IT teams to ensure coordinated delivery.
  • Respond to structured pricing and financial queries with clear, evidence‑based analysis.
  • Contribute as a technical specialist to pricing, product and efficiency‑related initiatives.

Skills, Qualifications and Experience required:

  • Relevant Bachelors or Postgraduate qualification
  • Meaningful actuarial exam progression would be an advantage
  • Proven experience in retirement funds, investments or long-term insurance.
  • Strong analytical capability including experience in building and interpreting financial models
  • Ability to synthesise complex data, research and analysis into clear, decision‑useful insights.
  • Solid commercial awareness with an appreciation of product profitability, competitiveness and sustainability.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with experience contributing to professional and executive‑level material.
