Job Description
The Licensing Consultant is responsible for managing Visa technical and business resources required to implement new and add-on Visa products and services. This role establishes project scope, identifies opportunities to improve Visa processes and procedures, gathers and documents project requirements, and provides consultative guidance to clients on Visa regulations, fees, features, and functionality to structure effective implementations. The Licensing Consultant tests and troubleshoots installed systems, escalates technical issues for resolution, and prepares detailed project plans, status reports, and issue logs. Additionally, the role translates complex customer business requirements into internal technical language.
All roles require digital fluency, including the ability to work with emerging technologies such as Generative AI tools (e.g. ChatGPT, Microsoft Copilot) to support everyday work.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide customized consultative support on license requests of mid to high complexity, applying in-depth knowledge of Visa Bylaws, Rules, eligibility criteria, and regulatory requirements.
- Offer upfront licensing consultancy to address and manage client expectations and clarify requirements for onboarding.
- Work closely with client-facing teams to provide guidance and support to prospective and current clients on licensing and onboarding queries, including business expansions.
- Coordinate internally with Onboarding and Implementation functions and other stakeholders to improve client onboarding experience and service offerings.
- Monitor all license application workstreams across key stakeholders and update status in relevant systems.
- Execute requests related to administration of clients’ licensing lifecycle, including sponsorship options, license upgrades/downgrades, mergers, acquisitions, and terminations.
- Present to client and internal stakeholders on licensing processes, timings, and expectations, including creation and customization of materials.
- Formulate recommendations and refer cases to management, identifying unusual scenarios or potential risks.
- Provide training to new staff and partners to build awareness of licensing and facilitate smooth execution of requests.
- Contribute to business requirements and enhancement requests for tools and systems, and perform acceptance testing.
- Manage communication channels for licensing resources to ensure they are up to date, client-focused, and effective.
Visa requires at least 3 days in office, expectations of these days will be confirmed by your Hiring Manager.
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications:
- Experience in client-facing roles within the financial services or payment industry.
- Experience in managing high volume of work with attention to detail and meeting deadlines.
- Experience in supporting operational activities and delivering process efficiencies.
- Experience in project management and supporting clients in implementing new products in a payment processing environment.
- Experience in using Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Experience in working cross-culturally and in remote situations.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in the financial services industry, with knowledge of end-to-end licensing processes, business drivers, and expectations.
- Experience in synthesizing technical information and applying it to business solutions.
- Experience in using Visa databases and workflow tools (e.g., VCIS, MSD, Playbook).
- Experience in training others and sharing knowledge effectively.
- Experience in process improvement and identifying opportunities for increased efficiency.
