Community Health Sciences is inviting applications for the position of Associate Professors from outstanding and ambitious candidates.
Key Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will contribute to teaching, research, advocacy, and policy initiatives in Reproductive Health and related disciplines.
Key responsibilities include:
- Design and deliver educational curricula for undergraduate, graduate, and postgraduate students in Reproductive Health.
- Develop and update specialized educational programs to support continuing professional education.
- Lead the development of innovative research programs in Reproductive Health and actively contribute to ongoing research initiatives.
- Secure research funding through grant writing and development of competitive proposals.
- Identify and leverage national and international funding opportunities to strengthen research and training programs.
- Advocate for policies related to reproductive and child health, maternal and newborn health, and gender equity.
- Engage with policymakers, government agencies, and other stakeholders to support evidence-informed decision-making.
- Facilitate the translation of research findings into strategies and interventions that improve maternal, newborn, and child health outcomes.
- Contribute to strengthening departmental capacity in advocacy, research, policy development, and interdisciplinary collaboration.
- Participate in teaching and research activities across the various sections of the Department of Community Health Sciences.
Eligibility Criteria / Requirements:
Applicants should possess:
- A doctoral degree (PhD, DrPH, MD, MBBS with advanced postgraduate qualifications, or equivalent) in Public Health, Reproductive Health, Epidemiology, Community Health, or a related field.
- Demonstrated academic experience in undergraduate and graduate teaching.
- A strong record of research, scholarly publications, and successful grant acquisition.
- Experience in reproductive health, maternal and child health, health systems, policy engagement, or related areas.
- Proven ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and external stakeholders.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and mentorship skills
