FIJI: Math Teacher, Church College Fiji - Church Schools at Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints

Overview

The Pacific Area Seminaries and Institutes of Religion are seeking a dedicated individual to be a MATH TEACHER at CHURCH COLLEGE FIJI. This is a permanent full-time position.

Role

Our purpose is to help students deepen their conversion to Jesus Christ and His restored gospel, to qualify for the blessings of the temple, to prepare for missionary and Church service, and to build the kingdom of God. Church Schools provide students with an opportunity to obtain knowledge and skills that will assist them in their future educational and career endeavours.

Responsibilities

The main responsibilities of this role are to teach the theoretical and practical instruction of students. The successful applicant will understand the curriculum and exercise sound judgment in using it effectively. He or she will track grades and assess students’ progress according to defined criteria using student management programs.

Requirements

• A teaching certificate would be advantageous. A bachelor’s degree in education (High School level) or related is preferred

• Has excellent English language concepts and skills (verbal and written)

• Loves learning and has the ability to motivate students and increase learning

• Is organized and hard-working, with the ability to work well with students

• Understands well and has proven strategies of appropriate classroom management

• Has experience with effective remediation and response to intervention practices

• Basic to intermediate computer skills

• Maintains temple worthiness standards

• Proof of legal right to work in Fiji

• Police clearance is required
