About the Role
The Aga Khan University invites applications for the position of Research Specialist in the Cardiology Section, Department of Medicine.
Job Role / Responsibilities:
You will be required to:
Assist in overall research program implementation
Conduct literature reviews and support scientific research activities
Assist in writing study protocols, grant applications, and erc submissions
Collect data using qualitative (e.g., interviews, focus groups) and quantitative (e.g., surveys) methods
Perform data entry, cleaning, management, and analysis
Ensure data quality control and maintain accurate study records
Support development and implementation of research tools
Assist in manuscript writing, abstracts, and reports for publications and presentations
Coordinate with research teams and external stakeholders for smooth execution of projects
Prepare and present weekly and monthly progress reports
Ensure timely submission of research-related documentation
Undertake any other tasks assigned by the principal investigator.
Eligibility Criteria / Requirements:
Master’s degree in Epidemiology & Biostatistics, Health Policy & Management, Public Health, Healthcare Management, Sociology, or any other relevant discipline
Three to five years of relevant experience in a large organisation preferably in healthcare research.
Experience in the practical conduct of data-driven research studies, health services research, data management and analysis are highly desirable
Experience with project or grant coordination, management, and submission.
Skills in data collection, analysis and interpretation
Knowledge of data collection techniques including surveys and other research designs
Good understanding of grant management processes and associated stakeholders at the University level.
Experience with software such as NVIVO, REDCap, SPSS
Excellent interpersonal and communications skills in English with the ability to write formal letters and emails
Ability to work with and provide support to multiple stakeholders and colleagues locally and internationally
Pro-active, detail oriented, skilled at time management with the ability to manage multiple tasks at the same time.
