Job Summary
NQF Level 7 – Honours / master’s degree.
Minimum 7-10 years’ experience in insurance or financial services, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role
To lead the execution and optimisation of customer centric microinsurance products and propositions across their lifecycle, ensuring alignment to approved business strategy, regulatory standards, and commercial objectives. The role supports sustainable growth and financial inclusion by driving high quality product delivery, digital adoption, and customer outcomes, while collaborating closely with cross functional stakeholders.
Job Description
Accountability: Strategy Execution & Product Roadmaps
Contribute to the execution of the approved microinsurance product and proposition strategy through market insights, data analysis, and performance feedback.
Translate strategic direction into practical product plans, roadmaps, and delivery priorities.
Support integrated proposition development across products and services, in collaboration with relevant product houses and clusters where required.
Provide informed input into pricing discussions and commercial assumptions in partnership with Pricing and Actuarial teams.
Accountability: Product Design, Customer Primacy & Digital Enablement
Drive customer‑centric product design and proposition execution aligned to financial inclusion, affordability, simplicity, and ease of use.
Collaborate with functional and enabling teams to ensure product compliance, operational feasibility, and customer relevance.
Support preparation of regulatory documentation and engage in regulatory processes under executive sponsorship, ensuring adherence to FSCA/PA requirements.
Monitor product performance and customer feedback to identify improvement opportunities and recommend corrective actions.
Accountability: Operational Delivery, Sustainability & Governance
Ensure effective operationalisation of new and existing product initiatives to support speed to market, service quality, and cost discipline.
Support product simplification and rationalisation initiatives to maintain relevance, sustainability, and operational efficiency.
Leverage market and performance data to inform product mix optimisation and future enhancement opportunities.
Ensure adherence to product governance, risk, compliance, and change management standards throughout the product lifecycle.
Accountability: Client‑Driven Innovation & Change Execution
Lead, coach, and develop a team to deliver on product and customer objectives, fostering accountability and continuous improvement.
Support workforce planning, capability development, and learning initiatives aligned to evolving business and customer needs.
Drive a stable and engaging team environment, promoting performance, inclusion, and colleague wellbeing.
Manage people risk and performance processes in line with HC frameworks and standards.
Contribute to succession planning, knowledge transfer, and capability uplift within the broader product function.
Support recruitment of team members in partnership with People Partners.
Education
Bachelor Honours Degree: Business, Commerce and Management Studies (Required), Master's Degree: Business, Commerce and Management Studies (Required).
