About the Role
Job Purpose:
The role holder will be responsible to ensure full representation on Insurance in Rwanda offering General and Medical Insurance Products to clients through all intermediaries available or as allocated. The role will report to the Country Sales Manager - Rwanda.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Secure new business directly or through intermediaries and aggregators.
2. Service existing business and maintain excellent business relationships with intermediaries, aggregators and clients.
3. Follow up on renewals and premium collections.
4. Forward any proposal/ policy forms to the underwriting department who will ensure it’s it in accordance with set guidelines to ensure sound acceptance of risk.
5. Identify and recommend FAs, Agents and Brokers for recruitment.
6. Give on timely quotations requested by FAs, Agents and Brokers allocated to you by the Business Development Manager.
7. Prepare weekly reports as required.
8. Gather marketing intelligence including competition, new products and about the Company’s image.
9. Handle customer enquiries and complaints written or verbal and refer to relevant departments for assistance.
10. Gather all initial information required when claim arises and liaise on the same with Claims Department.
11. Delivery performance requirements as defined in the department’s strategy map, balance scorecard and personal scorecard.
Qualifications & Experience:
1. Bachelor’s degree in a business-related field.
2. Professional qualifications in Insurance (ACII, IIK) would be an added advantage.
3. 2-4 years’ relevant Business Development and Sales experience in the insurance industry.
4. Knowledge of insurance regulatory requirements of Rwanda.
5. Knowledge of insurance products.
