Your responsibilities will include carefully reviewing and auditing data, delivering essential feedback to vendors, and ensuring that all indexed records meet our rigorous standards of excellence.

Responsibilities

  • Data Auditing
    Review genealogical records submitted by vendor partners to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with FamilySearch guidelines.

  • Feedback & Reporting
    Maintain thorough records of audit activities, including identified issues. Deliver timely feedback to vendors via project managers, addressing performance issues and recommending improvements to enhance data quality.

  • Cross-Team Collaboration
    Coordinate with project managers, database administrators, and other internal teams to ensure smooth communication, efficient data handling, and alignment on project goals.

Requirements

  • Clear and effective written and verbal communication skills.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel and Word.

  • Self-motivated with excellent time management skills and the ability to work independently.

  • Strong knowledge of genealogy and family history research methods; practical experience preferred.

  • Ability to work with records in unfamiliar languages by identifying key terms and patterns, comparing images within collections, and utilizing translation tools such as Google Translate and other language resources.

  • Language skills and corresponding regional naming conventions are a plus – specifically related, but not limited to Spanish, Portuguese, Italian, Latin, Swedish, French, Cyrillic (Russian/Ukrainian), or Thai.

Paid Interns are qualified while enrolled in an educational institution and for one year following graduation. They must sign a Paid Internship Engagement Letter.
