About the Role

Overview

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is seeking Project Management interns to help our IT department work with teams of engineers, product managers, developers, and vendors to manage project timelines, resources, and budgets. This role includes collaboration with BYU-Pathway Worldwide to ensure alignment across educational technology initiatives and coordinated delivery of shared solutions. Interns will work independently or in group settings in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment.

Additionally, this role will support the global implementation of enterprise payment gateway and payment processing solutions, contributing to systems that operate across multiple countries, currencies, banking partners, and regulatory environments.

Role

This internship position represents an exciting opportunity to work for one of the largest information technology centers in the Wasatch Front. This intern works with divine guidance to provide or support technology that furthers the mission of the Church and reflects the eternal impact of the gospel.

In this role, interns will engage with BYU-Pathway stakeholders to support alignment between Church IT systems and Pathway’s global education platforms, ensuring clear communication, shared understanding of priorities, and coordinated execution across organizations.

Interns will also gain exposure to the delivery of secure, scalable, and compliant global payment solutions, supporting capabilities such as credit cards, ACH, real-time payments, digital wallets, alternative payment methods, and international settlement processes.

Responsibilities

A Day in the Life

Get experience supporting systems and delivering services to Church headquarters and millions of users throughout the world.

  • Collaborate across disciplines to build project plans, including resource requirements and budget
  • Lead project timelines to ensure technology solutions are delivered on time, within budget, and according to business requirements
  • Support global payment solution initiatives, including integration with payment gateways, banking partners, and financial systems
  • Help coordinate delivery of payment capabilities across multiple countries, currencies, and regulatory environments
  • Communicate regularly with BYU-Pathway teams and stakeholders to align on project goals, timelines, and deliverables
  • Coordinate cross-organizational efforts between Church IT and Pathway teams, ensuring dependencies, risks, and priorities are clearly understood and managed
  • Facilitate communication between technical teams, vendors, and Pathway business partners to support successful outcomes
  • Assist in managing vendors and stakeholders, contributing to risk mitigation and compliance with financial and security standards
  • Deliver solutions while handling pressures for change requests and scope
  • Develop management reports to communicate project status
  • Participate in ensuring compliance with regional financial regulations and security best practices (e.g., data protection and secure payment processing)
  • Strong influence skills are required
  • Work with state-of-the-art tools to help develop enterprise solutions

Requirements

You should be currently enrolled or within one year of your graduation date from an accredited college or university

InternshipInternships are for current temple worthy members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Solid business presentation skills (articulates technical concepts clearly - visually and verbally)

Technology background is desired.

Excellent communication skills for interacting with and providing information to management levels will be needed. Familiarity with the following tools/technologies:

  • Microsoft SharePoint
  • ServiceNow
  • Endpoint Management
  • LucidChart
  • InfoPath
  • Photoshop
  • HTML
  • Project management experience is desired.
  • Accounting or finance skills a plus
  • Experience with MS Office suite and project management software

Work Schedule:

This is a 40 hour per week internship that is expected to last approximately 6 months. Normal office hours are between 8:00am-5:00pm, Monday through Friday.

Offices are located in either Lehi or Riverton. Hybrid and fully remote schedules are available, based on your location. Pay is $24/hr.
