Job Summary
As a Technical Lead/Software Architect, you will be the strategic blueprint-maker and technical compass for multiple engineering teams. This is a dual-impact role designed for a master systems thinker who can seamlessly manage the architectural design of multiple concurrent projects. You will bridge the gap between high-level business vision and concrete technical execution, driving complex product integrations across the R&D ecosystem. You aren't just designing software; you are calculating impact, mitigating edge cases, and inspiring teams to deliver exceptional engineering feats.
Your Career
Multi-Project Architectural Governance: Simultaneously oversee and drive the technical architecture and design of multiple high-priority projects, ensuring alignment with global engineering standards.
Systems Thinking & Integration: Brainstorm, design, and map highly complex distributed systems that span multiple product lines. Collaborate closely with cross-R&D architects to ensure seamless enterprise integrations.
Strategic Trade-off Analysis: Masterfully balance the pragmatism of MVP (Minimum Viable Product) delivery with the vision for Long-Term Scalability. Know exactly when to take on technical debt and when to build for the future.
Deep Impact Analysis: Anticipate hidden edge cases, identify system bottlenecks, and conduct rigorous impact analyses on architectural changes before a single line of code is written.
Technical Evangelism & Motivation: Translate complex architectural concepts into clear, actionable roadmaps. Motivate and mentor engineering teams to tackle intimidating, complex designs with confidence and ownership.
Collaborative Leadership: Act as a core liaison between product management, engineering leads, and cross-functional architects to negotiate technical boundaries and drive consensus.
Qualifications
Architectural & Technical Leadership :
9+ years of software engineering experience, with 3+ years directly leading technical architecture, system design, or serving as a Tech Lead in enterprise environments.
Proven track record of thinking in systems—specifically designing, launching, and maintaining complex, multi-product integrations and distributed cloud architectures.
Exceptional ability to conduct impact analysis and proactively design for catastrophic failure modes, race conditions, and edge cases.
Strong background in building scalable microservices (ideally utilizing .NET Core, Java, or Python, alongside Docker, Kubernetes, and AWS).
Demonstrated experience handling multiple parallel project designs without losing sight of detail or quality.
Communication & Soft Skills
Excellent Articulation & Communication: Ability to crystalize abstract, chaotic technical problems into elegant, easily understood concepts for both junior developers and C-level executives.
Influencing Without Authority: A natural ability to collaborate with cross-functional R&D architects, align conflicting technical opinions, and drive cohesive architectural decisions.
Team Catalyst: A proven track record of motivating engineering teams, instilling a passion for high-quality code, and elevating the collective technical capability of the organization.
Preferred Qualifications :
Spec-Driven & AI-Assisted Architecture: Experience using AI tools for rapid prototyping, architecture diagram generation, or automating system specification documentation.
Experience navigating fast-paced environments where balancing rapid business iteration with robust architectural foundation is a daily requirement.
Our Commitment
We’re trailblazers that dream big, take risks, and challenge cybersecurity’s status quo. It’s simple: we can’t accomplish our mission without diverse teams innovating, together.
We are committed to providing reasonable accommodations for all qualified individuals with a disability. If you require assistance or accommodation due to a disability or special need, please contact us at accommodations@paloaltonetworks.com.
