Patient Scheduling Representative I - TGH Imaging Scheduling at Tampa General Hospital

This position is an entry-level role within the Scheduling department. The primary responsibility is to support the scheduling team by routing incoming calls from patients and physician offices to the appropriate scheduling resources. The role focuses on providing accurate information and ensuring callers are directed correctly to facilitate appointment scheduling.

Essential Functions:

• Answer incoming calls to the centralized scheduling call center
• Provide information on locations and hours of operation
• Verify appointment dates, times, locations
• Identify procedures performed at various sites
• Route non-scheduling questions to the appropriate operator
• Direct calls to the correct scheduling representative
• Perform other assigned duties as needed

Education:

• High School Diploma or GED

Technical Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Verbal and written communication skills
• Telephone etiquette and customer service skills
• Problem-solving ability
• Ability to communicate clearly with patients and physician offices
• Basic understanding of scheduling workflows (industry standard for entry-level scheduling roles)
