About the team:
Value Added Services (VAS) is one of three growth strategies for Visa globally, aimed at diversifying Visa’s revenue with products and solutions that differentiate its network and deliver valuable solutions across other networks.

Japan Value Added Services (VAS) is a newly created function reporting into the Japan Country Manager and the Head of Asia Pacific VAS. All associated capabilities and services will report into the three functions in VAS – Acceptance Sales, Solution Sales and Technical Enablement. These functions together are accountable for both sales and end-to-end technical enablement of VAS products towards all types of clients such as banks, financial institutions, platformers, merchants, wallet providers, etc. The team coordinates across various business functions in Japan such as Client Relationship Management and Client Services, as well as our global offices, to support the business growth of our clients.

What a Senior Manager, Acceptance Sales does at Visa:
Reporting to the Head of Acceptance Sales, this role is responsible sales and post-sales technical enablement of clients across a broad range of Value Added Services products and Visa core technology, many of which are highly prioritized country-level strategic initiatives at Visa.

Key Responsibilities of The Role Include:

  • Own sales targets and sell a subset of Visa products and solutions to Visa Japan clients
  • Explain technical products to clients in simple terms
  • Manage and upsell to a subset of existing Visa accounts who use our products as an account manager while developing new opportunities with new clients
  • Report sales pipeline and progress to senior leadership periodically
  • Collaborate closely with other Visa Account Executives to generate new opportunities
  • Create sales narratives, sales material, technical explainers as required for successful sales
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including marketing, product, and operations, to ensure a seamless end-to-end customer experience.
  • Stay up to date on Visa products and solutions by collaborating with product teams internally
  • Support sales strategy creation where required
  • Improve Visa’s existing ways of work to make our work more effective in serving both client and Visa strategic priorities
  • Take clear ownership and accountability of assigned work and effectively manage risk through consistent application of relevant Visa Key Controls
  • Mentor and coach other team members to enhance their skills and capabilities to bottom up the team performance where required

Qualifications

What you will need:
Experiences:

  • Full professional level in both Japanese and English.
  • Minimum 8 years’ experience in a sales-focused role involving client management.
  • Proven track record in intercultural and cross-functional project management.
  • Proven track record of translating business requirements into technical requirements and vice versa
  • Proven track record of leading client discussions in technical topics.
  • Experience of client and stakeholder management at large, complex organizations.
  • High proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint and Excel.
  • Understanding of Japanese payments industry is a plus.

  • Proven literacy in technology and ability to read and understand highly technical solutions
  • Proven skills in selling highly technical solutions to corporations, against numeric targets
  • Proven track record of client account management
  • Proven skills in effectively communicating solution requirements internally and externally
  • Commercial and business acumen, ability to make feasible recommendations against client needs
  • Consulting skills for simplifying complex technical topics into simple words and value propositions
  • Client-first mindset and ability to problem-solve with clients and suggest solutions with respect to both client and Visa strategic priorities.
  • Self-starter with demonstrated ability to take initiative and adapt in a fast-changing, often ambiguous market environment
  • Truly keen to understand client problems from their eyes and dive into technical problems
  • Disciplined approach to risk management, identifies and analyses risks when making decisions
  • Highly disciplined and organized approach to execute consistently and systematically on both immediate and long-term priorities
