About the Role

Introduction

The Outreach and Research Programme of the Department of Paediatrics and Child Health has ten community-based field sites across Pakistan (including four in Karachi) and focuses on research for betterment of women and child health. The Department has a Nutritional Research Laboratory as well as an Infectious Disease Research Laboratory that cater to the needs of its research projects. It has well-acclaimed work to its credit both at the national and international level.

Responsibilities

You will be responsible to:

  • draft high-quality manuscripts in collaboration with other team members to prepare 3-4 drafts in a year which are ready for Publication.
  • analyze and interpret complex qualitative and quantitative datasets using appropriate analytical techniques.
  • prepare data summaries, tables, graphs, and analytical reports for research publications and presentations
  • conduct comprehensive literature reviews and critically evaluate publications
  • synthesize findings from multiple sources to identify research gaps and emerging themes.
  • contribute to the preparation of evidence-based sections of manuscripts, reports, and grant applications.
  • evaluate study limitations, biases, and statistical significance to ensure validity of findings.
  • document and describe methodological approaches in manuscripts and research reports.

Requirement

You should have:

  • MBBS or MSc. In Epidemiology and Statistics / MPH / Master’s in HPM or equivalent qualifications.
  • preferably with additional certification and knowledge of Good Clinical Practices.
  • at least 3-4 years of experience of analysis and drafting manuscripts

  • highly organized and self-motivated;
  • excellent interpersonal communication skills;
  • ability to work independently and in team;
  • excellent written and verbal communication skills in English;
  • strong computer skills; Microsoft Word, Excel etc
  • excellent academic writing skills
  • good analysis skills on SPSS, STAT, R etc
