About the Role

Job Purpose:

The Business Development Officer will support the Business Development Manager in driving business growth, expanding market share, and strengthening strategic distribution channels across bancassurance and broker networks.

The role focuses on training delivery, FA recruitment and activation, retail product rollout, and performance enablement.

Key responsibilities

Sales & Business Growth

• Support execution of business development strategies

• Drive retail product penetration

• Convert pipeline into issued business

• Achieve monthly, quarterly, annual targets Training & Capacity Building

• Deliver structured training for banks, brokers, FAs • Facilitate product, sales, compliance training

• Develop materials and track effectiveness FA Recruitment & Activation

• Recruit and onboard bank-based FAs

• Support licensing and productivity

• Drive activity and conversion performance Retail Product Deployment

• Roll out retail solutions across channels

• Drive motor, credit life, group life sales

• Support upselling and cross-selling

Incentives & Performance

• Implement incentive frameworks

• Drive engagement and track ROI

Key Performance Measures

• Training rollout across key banks & brokers completed

• Initial FA recruitment pipeline established

• Retail product presence activated in priority branches

• Channel productivity (per branch / per FA)

• Active FA base within bancassurance channel

• Consistent pipeline visibility and reporting

• Retail GWP growth

• Credit life penetration

• Fully operational training + activation engine across partners

Knowledge, experience and qualifications required

1. Bachelor’s degree in business-related field

2. COP Certification is an Added Advantage

3. Progress toward IIU/CII

4. 2–5 years insurance/bancassurance/broker experience
