About the Role
Qualifications & Requirements
Applicants must meet the following requirements:
- Diploma or Bachelor\'s Degree in Nursing from a recognized institution.
- Valid Nursing Council of Kenya (NCK) Practicing License.
- Minimum of one (1) year post-internship clinical experience in a hospital setting.
- Experience working in a busy Level 4 or higher hospital will be an added advantage.
- Ability to work in various departments including Outpatient, Inpatient, Maternity, Theatre, Emergency, and Pediatric units.
- Sound knowledge of nursing procedures, patient safety standards, infection prevention and control practices.
- Strong communication, teamwork, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- High level of professionalism, integrity, flexibility, and commitment to quality patient care.
- Must be available to work flexible shifts, including nights, weekends, and public holidays when required.
Key Responsibilities
The successful candidates will be responsible for:
- Providing safe, efficient, and compassionate nursing care to patients.
- Assessing, monitoring, and documenting patient progress accurately.
- Administering medications and treatments as prescribed.
- Supporting doctors and other healthcare professionals during patient management.
- Ensuring compliance with Nursing Council of Kenya regulations and hospital policies
- Maintaining infection prevention and control standards at all times.
- Participating in emergency response and patient stabilization where necessary.
- Ensuring proper nursing documentation and handover procedures.
- Promoting patient education and advocating for patient-centered care.
- Supporting the hospital\'s quality improvement and patient safety initiatives.
