About the Role
The Applications Development Manager is an intermediate management level position responsible for the enhancement of an application supporting OTC (Over The Counter) Derivatives Accounting platform and work with the global team. The overall objective of this role is to lead applications systems analysis and programming activities.
Responsibilities:
- Manage a team of Applications Development professionals to accomplish established goals and conduct personnel duties for team (e.g. performance evaluations, training and development, hiring and disciplinary actions) as well as act as an advisor or coach to mid-level developers and analysts
- Oversee process for technical issue escalation and prioritize technical issue resolution
- Leverage skills across Applications Development area to provide technical oversight across systems and applications
- Communicate internal and external departmental interdependence as well as cross product and cross project
- Resolve issues using in-depth knowledge of concepts and procedures within applications development
- Utilize in-depth specialty knowledge of applications development to analyze complex problems/issues, provide evaluation of business processes, system processes, and industry standards, and make evaluative judgement
- Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency, as well as effectively supervise the activity of others and create accountability with those who fail to maintain these standards.
Recommended Qualifications:
- 5-8 years of relevant experience in Apps Development role with experience in leading a team of developers.
- Prior experience in financial industry is preferred. Knowledge of Derivative products is a plus.
- Experience in managing and implementing successful projects
- Ability to take ownership and make technical decisions on software development projects
- Advanced SQL knowledge, including complex joins, subqueries, and performance tuning of SQL queries. Knowledge for Sybase or Microsoft SQL Server is required.
- Scripting: Proficient in shell scripting for automation of batch processes on Unix/Linux platforms.
- DevOps & CI/CD: Experience with CI/CD tools such as Bitbucket and Jenkins.
- Agile/Scrum methodology experience is required.
- Strong problem-solving skills and a commitment to writing clean, maintainable code.
- Demonstrated leadership and management skills
- Consistently demonstrates clear and concise written and verbal communication
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree/University degree or equivalent experience

Primary Location Full Time Salary Range:
$121,200.00 - $181,800.00
