The Finance Desk (FD) support group provides technical and business support for Citi’s global Finance Desk. Support teams are located in multiple regions; Belfast, Sydney India and Mississauga.

The ‘Finance Desk Application Suite’ application hosts web based components and Informational business content for Finance Desk trading and related business areas. The ‘Finance Workstation’ application is a trade capture system used by Global Finance Products area for capturing Repos, Buy/sellbacks, Borrow/Loans & some Money market transactions.

We are searching for a highly motivated and enthusiastic technical senior for Finance Desk support team, based in Belfast. We work in partnership with the business running the application production platform, providing quick resolutions to their issues, driving stability, efficiency and effectiveness improvements to help us and the business succeed. The role will entail working closely with senior business partners, developing application knowledge, driving and tracking projects around stability and service improvement, incident resolution and follow-up activities and providing strategic technical solutions

Key Responsibilities:

You will be working closely with regional teams in Sydney, India, UK, US and Canada operating in a follow-the-sun global model, along with application developers and business analysts in the team.

  • Global Oversight of Finance Desk Support function with Rates Technology – facing off to senior Business and Technology stakeholders

  • Provide user and batch support for trade booking application ‘Finance Workstation’ and ‘Positions’

  • Start of day checks, continuous monitoring of application and underlying infrastructure

  • Expected to be able to raise problems to appropriate technology and business teams, while adhering to Service Level Agreements.

  • Develop and maintain technical support documentation

  • Act as a liaison between users/traders, interfacing internal technology groups and vendors

  • Participate in application releases, testing and deployment into production

  • Perform post release checkouts after application releases and infrastructure updates

  • Active involvement in and ownership of Support Project items, covering Stability, Efficiency and Effectiveness initiatives.

  • Good interpersonal and communication skills, great teammate.

  • Basic Business knowledge/ understanding of financial markets and products.

  • IT/spreadsheet/analytical/modelling skills)

  • UNIX (Solaris/Linux) knowledge and practical usage. (Able to navigate the system and know the core administration functions)

  • Oracle SQL knowledge and practical usage. (Able to create ad hoc SQL queries)

  • Strong analytical skills & attention to detail

  • Strong Leadership Qualities

Essential:

  • Experience in a Lead Application Support role

  • Good UNIX (Solaris/Linux) knowledge and practical usage: able to navigate the system and know the core administration functions

  • Extensive Oracle SQL knowledge and practical usage: able to create ad hoc SQL queries

  • IT skills - Excel/ analytical/modelling skills

  • Strong analytical skills & attention to detail

Desirable:

  • Experience working in a front office support environment would be beneficial

  • Business knowledge/ understanding of financial markets and products/ a regulatory environment would be beneficial
