About the Role
The Foundation
We are the largest nonprofit fighting poverty, disease, and inequity around the world. Founded on a simple premise: people everywhere, regardless of identity or circumstances, should have the chance to live healthy, productive lives. We believe our employees should reflect the rich diversity of the global populations we aim to serve.
We provide an exceptional benefits package to employees and their families which include comprehensive medical, dental, and vision coverage with no premiums, generous paid time off, paid family leave, foundation-paid retirement contribution, regional holidays, and opportunities to engage in several employee communities. As a workplace, we’re committed to creating an environment for you to thrive both personally and professionally.
The Team
The Exemplars in Global Health (EGH) program aims to equip decision makers with the insights they need to accelerate and scale interventions and programs that improve the health and wellbeing of the world’s most vulnerable. EGH works with a global network of partners to study outliers and best practices across a range of topics, including health outcomes and the primary health care systems and delivery strategies that enable improved health and wellbeing.
EGH’s goals are to produce high-quality research and just-in-time analysis to drive improvements in how policymakers and funders address the most pressing global health challenges.
We pursue this through:
1. The study of “positive outliers”—identifying countries or regions that have achieved exceptional progress in health outcomes and analyzing the drivers behind their success;
2. The study of emerging practices with global learning value, using prospective implementation research and real-time analytics to meet the ambition of ‘learning by doing’;
3. The provision of internal advisory services to support teams in pursuit of the Foundation’s three goals toward 2045; and
4. External partnerships to scale exemplary practices with governments, policymakers, global health initiatives, and multilateral development banks.
The fourth area is the focus of this Senior Officer LTE role and is managed by the Partnerships & Insights subteam within EGH, in close collaboration with the Global Funds and Agencies (GHAF) team and others.
The Partnerships & Insights (P&I) team utilizes a variety of approaches to achieve its objectives, including developing strategic partnerships, producing policy documents, and leveraging communications to support decision-makers.
This position is located in Seattle, reports to the Deputy Director and is a limited-term position for 9 months. Neither relocation assistance nor Visa support are offered for this LTE role.
What You’ll Do
Lead development and execution of EGH partnership strategy for the Global Fund to guide where we partner with the Global Fund and how to do it effectively.
Update the catalogue approaches and lessons learned from previous and current engagements with the Global Fund
Identify EGH’s comparative advantage and our limitations in supporting Global Fund with evidence to inform decisions. Where applicable, propose new research/approaches that would be resonant with Global Fund.
Engage with teams across the Foundation to exchange information on approaches to Global Fund engagement and to proactively share information on what EGH is learning and doing
Develop a strategy to guide EGH’s engagement with the Global Fund and lead initial execution of the strategy
Support EGH topic teams with execution of impact opportunities resulting in successful integration of EGH learnings into Global Fund decisions.
Identify new collaboration areas where further EGH research and analysis could support emerging evidence needs.
Your Experience
8-10+ years of experience in global health policy, advocacy, or development-focused consulting at a leading organization, Masters or other advanced degree preferred.
Demonstrable expertise in creating and/or managing partnerships with the Global Fund.
Proven analytical capability, including experience translating technical findings into materials to support decision-making in large multilateral institutions or governments.
Strong experience organizing and driving complex projects while effectively balancing multiple priorities on tight timelines.
Strong communication skills, including strong writing, presentations, and ability to efficiently synthesize materials.
Detailed ability to credibly convene and influence diverse partners, filter information, frame issues, and facilitate high-quality decision-making around multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.
Strong understanding of the foundation’s work from a program perspective and the global context surrounding the foundation’s initiatives.
Must have unrestricted work authorization in the country where this position is located.
The Foundation does not provide immigration-related sponsorship for this role. This includes direct company sponsorship and any work authorization requiring a written submission or other immigration support from the company (e.g. H-1B, O-1, L-1, E, OPT, STEM-OPT, CPT, TN, J-1, etc.).
The salary range for this role is $190,100 to $294,700 USD. We recognize high-wage market differences in Seattle and Washington D.C., where our offices are located. The range for this role in these locations is $209,100 to $324,100 USD. As a mission-driven organization, we strive to balance competitive pay with our mission. New hires salaries are typically between the range minimum and the salary range midpoint. Actual placement in the range will depend on a candidate’s job-related skills, experience, and expertise, as evaluated during the interview process.
Hiring Requirements
As part of our standard hiring process for new employees, employment will be contingent upon successful completion of a background check.
