The Opportunity
In response to the Rohingya crisis, Save the Children has dramatically scaled up child protection programming, including through the provision of case management services to UASC and other vulnerable children.

The overall role of the Specialist - Case Management will be to lead on the quality of Save the Children’s case management programme under the supervision of the Rohingya response Senior Program Manager - CP. The Specialist - Case Management will focus on building Save the Children’s technical capacity and quality internally to provide quality support to UASC and other vulnerable and at-risk children.

This role will include providing technical supervision to high-risk child protection cases, responsibility for capacity building of case management staff, and responsibility for rolling out technical coaching and supervision practices.

The Specialist - Case Management will line manage the Coordinator- Case Management.

Qualifications and Experience

  • At least 4 years’ experience within a development organisation in Child Protection/GBV or General Protection program.
  • Significant technical experience in child protection in emergencies
  • Previous experience and strong skills in UASC response, FTR, alternative care and case management
  • Previous experience of working with Save the Children
  • Previous experience of first phase emergency response (Cat1/2)
  • Previous experience in team management, including recruitment and on-the-job training
  • Experience in psychosocial support programmes for children.
  • Ability to identify the main gaps in child protection in the given context to inform a holistic response for children.
  • Experience of and commitment to working through systems of community participation and accountability
  • Experience in monitoring and evaluating child protection programmes in emergency, transition and development contexts.
  • Experience in capacity building and in strengthening various duty bearers' understanding of and response to child protection.
  • Master’s degree in social work, Human Rights Law, International Relations, Development Studies or any other relevant department.
