Overview

This role is a temporary full-time role supporting the Global Distribution Center in the Materials Management Department.

Role

This position helps make gospel teachings, resources, or services accessible to all of God's children, supporting the mission of the Church. The incumbent performs daily receiving, warehousing, selecting, and shipping tasks. Incumbents replenish, audit, inventory, document, ship materials domestically and internationally, and/or deliver commodities. This position provides entry or training level warehousing experience in which the incumbent performs various receiving, stores, and/or shipping functions under close supervision.

Responsibilities

Specific work performed may vary considerably between different departments for this position. However, duties would be of similar complexity and difficulty to those in the following list:

Performs general material handling/warehousing duties involving receiving, storing, inventorying, shipping, and disbursing materials/commodities. Picks orders and prepares pallets for shipment. Processes materials using postal manifest and meter equipment. Loads and unloads trucks.

This is a temporary position with no promise of regular employment.

Requirements

  • Requires a High School diploma or equivalent with basic math and computer skills. Preference will be given to those with previous warehousing, material handling, or related work experience.
  • Experience in operating motorized material handling equipment including forklifts preferred.
  • Must be able to become certified within 6 weeks of hire.
  • Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills.
  • Must be able to read and understand English.
  • If driving required, a valid operator's license is required that is appropriate for the vehicle(s) to be driven.
  • Must be able to physically lift/move/push/pull items (up to 50 lbs. alone or occasionally lift up to 100 lbs. with two people), climb ladders, stairs, scaffolding, and ramps to store/retrieve items, and operate a pallet jack containing up to 2,500 lbs.
