Save the Children International seeks to always be a child-safe organization by fulfilling its obligations to the community and through programme implementation carried out by the organization for safeguarding children and improve their living standards of the child.
ROLE PURPOSE:
The Education Assistant supports the implementation of SEAL education activities at the field level across assigned districts and schools, ensuring timely and quality delivery of activities in line with approved workplans, technical standards, safeguarding requirements, and MoE coordination mechanisms. The role contributes to implementation quality for Sub-component 1.2 (student learning materials, ASER, reading and remedial support) and Sub-component 1.3 (teacher/principal/supervisor support, school improvement planning, and supportive supervision tools), while ensuring timely reporting and coordination with the MEAL and ESS teams.
SCOPE OF ROLE:

Works closely with: ESS, Supply Chain/Procurement, Finance, HR/Admin, Security, MoE (GEO/DEO/Schools), volunteers, community leaders.
KEY AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY:
Program Support:
- Support implementation of SEAL project activities in targeted districts and schools according to approved plans and timelines.
- Facilitate trainings, workshops, meetings, assessments, and community mobilization activities.
- Assist in distribution of teaching and learning materials and ensure proper documentation.
- Conduct regular field visits to schools and project sites to monitor progress and identify challenges.
- Ensure activities meet Save the Children and World Bank quality standards.
- Support logistical arrangements with Supply Chain/Admin teams.
- Maintain proper filing and archiving of activity documentation.
- Prepare and submit weekly/monthly reports with statistical and narrative information.
Delivery
- Provide technical support and guidance to teachers, school leaders, and volunteers.
- Identify implementation challenges and report them promptly.
- Ensure timely completion of assigned activities according to workplans and targets.
- Participate in assessments, monitoring visits, and project review meetings.
Monitoring, Evaluation and Accountability and Quality
- Support implementation of monitoring tools in coordination with MEAL.
- Collect, verify, and submit monitoring data using approved systems.
- Document lessons learned, success stories, and case studies.
- Facilitate third-party monitoring (TPM) visits.
- Ensure compliance with ESS monitoring systems and World Bank ESMF requirements.

- Coordinate with school staff, district education offices, community leaders, and stakeholders.
- Maintain positive working relationships with education stakeholders.
- Promote understanding and compliance with Child Safeguarding policies.
- Provide feedback to volunteers and field teams to improve implementation quality.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
Essential:
- Minimum bachelor’s degree (preferably in Education or relevant field).
- At least 1 year of experience in education/community-based programs (INGO/NGO preferred).
- Technical knowledge in education programming, child protection, and community engagement.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Good reporting and documentation skills.
- Ability to travel to rural communities and field locations.
- Computer skills (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Commitment to child rights, safeguarding principles, humanitarian standards, and SCI values.
Desired:
- Background in Emergency programming is an asset.
- Strong verbal and written skills in English and in the local language (Arabic).
(Embed counter-fraud and ethical controls in all operational processes, ensuring compliance with donor and legal requirements, while collaborating with Finance and Counter-Fraud teams to mitigate risks and conduct assessments for high-value programs)
