What’s it all about?


The Senior Manager Corporate Communications, France, Belgium and Luxembourg (FBL) is an important member of the European regional communications team, partnering with business units and colleagues locally to drive Visa’s reputation externally and enhance employee pride and engagement.

Reporting into the Director of Communications in FBL, they should be curious, business-focused, enjoy taking on new projects, collaborating with others and delivering brilliant results.

This role suits a strong storyteller, who can create engaging, compelling stories that work across different channels. Someone who has a passion for media, knows how to deliver a successful campaign across multiple channels internally and externally. A self-starter, with creative flair and strong attention to detail, used to collaborating with colleagues across the business, particularly in Marketing and Government Engagement teams.

The Senior Manager will support the team on a wide range of corporate communications activity including media relations, issues management, PR announcements and campaigns.

You can expect to:

  • Develop and delivering external communications programs aligned to Visa’s business objectives.
  • Collaborate with colleagues in the London-based hub Europe Corporate Communications team, feeding into campaigns as they develop, influencing European plans.
  • Create engaging written and visual content including press releases, statements, blogs, briefing documents, video, infographics and social media content.
  • Help manage the PR agency to maximize external opportunities, and manage the incoming inquiries.
  • Supports the Director, Corporate Communications, FBL in managing and maintaining a high performing agency partner, collaborating on campaigns & strategies, sharing best practice.
  • As a member of the European Corporate Communications team, help Visa respond to any major crisis by undertaking an appropriate communications role and responsibility, ensuring ability to respond out of hours in the most severe scenarios.
  • Manage project budgets, ensuring alignment with procurement and contract processes.
  • Ensure that communications activity is measurable including reporting to demonstrate the effectiveness of campaigns using media & digital analysis and evaluation.

This is a hybrid position. Expectation of days in the office will be confirmed by your Hiring Manager.

Qualifications

As our ideal candidate, you will:

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and proven ability to advise
  • and influence environment.
  • Experienced developing and implementing communications programs,
  • reputation management and interacting with media
  • Have experience of working in a matrixed, multi-national corporate
  • environment.
  • Have exceptional language skills in French and English to develop content to
  • drive communications initiatives, other European languages an advantage.
  • Be an agile, confident thinker, able to grasp complex topics quickly.
  • Have the curiosity to develop deep knowledge and understanding of the
  • opportunities and challenges facing Visa and our industry.
  • Demonstrate that you are well organized and able to manage small
  • communications projects and processes, ensuring operational excellence.
  • Work as a collaborative team player who builds and maintains positive
  • relationships with colleagues across our European corporate communications
  • team, our business stakeholders and our agency partners.
  • Be capable of achieving results in a fast-paced and dynamic environment,
  • often on short deadlines.
  • Understand how to budget for communications initiatives.
