About the Role

PARTNER, DATA CENTRE, Central Europe

ERM is the world’s largest pure‑play sustainability consultancy. We partner with leading organisations to address complex sustainability challenges and unlock commercial opportunities through innovative, future‑ready solutions.

Central Europe, particularly Germany and Poland, is experiencing rapid digital and industrial transformation. With strong growth in hyperscale and colocation facilities, increasing AI‑driven compute demand and heightened pressure on power availability, permitting and sustainability performance, operators require strategic, regulatory, environmental and energy advisory support. ERM is uniquely positioned to provide this through our integrated model spanning strategy, technical excellence, regulatory navigation and project delivery across the full data‑centre lifecycle.

As part of ERM’s continued investment in the Technology and Data Centre sectors, we are seeking an experienced and inclusive Consulting Partner to lead and grow our Data Centre business across Germany and Poland.

We welcome applications from leaders of all backgrounds and encourage interest from those who bring diverse perspectives and career paths.

Role Profile:

As Partner, Data Centre (Central Europe), you will lead ERM’s consulting activities throughout Germany and Poland. You will work closely with hyperscale cloud providers, developers, operators, investors and energy stakeholders to deliver solutions that are strategic, sustainable and commercially grounded.

This role combines market leadership, client development, project delivery and people leadership. You will contribute to ERM’s global sector strategy and play a key part in shaping the future of sustainable digital infrastructure across Central Europe.

You will work collaboratively with a diverse global community of Partners, supporting an environment where all colleagues can thrive and develop.

Main Responsibilities:

Client Development and Market Growth

  • Lead ERM’s Data Centre growth agenda across Germany and Poland, engaging with hyperscale, colocation and enterprise operators.

  • Develop opportunities across the full lifecycle, including site selection, permitting, environmental and social due diligence, energy and grid strategy, sustainability and operational resilience.

  • Shape commercial strategies informed by regional energy constraints, evolving regulations and rising expectations on low‑carbon deployment.

  • Build long‑term, trusted client relationships, positioning ERM as a strategic adviser.

  • Apply ERM’s global expertise to support clients navigating Central European regulatory frameworks, sustainability requirements and corporate reporting obligations.

Project Delivery and Technical Leadership

  • Lead multidisciplinary project delivery including environmental assessments, permitting, planning support, ESG strategy development, grid‑connection advisory, decarbonisation, biodiversity and water stewardship.

  • Support clients in meeting EU sustainability and reporting obligations, including energy efficiency, waste and emissions reduction, renewable‑energy integration and heat‑recovery solutions.

  • Provide insight on power‑supply and energy‑procurement challenges such as PPAs, grid‑capacity planning, on‑site generation and microgrids.

  • Ensure technical excellence through collaboration with ERM’s global network of more than 8,000 sustainability experts.

Strategic Ownership

  • Contribute to ERM’s global strategy and sector leadership as a senior member of the Partnership.

  • Shape ERM’s Data Centre proposition across Germany and Poland, ensuring alignment with policy developments, infrastructure challenges and emerging technology trends.

  • Champion inclusive leadership and support the development of colleagues across the region.

  • Represent ERM through thought leadership, industry engagement and external advocacy
