Introduction:
Aga Khan University, chartered in 1983 as Pakistan's first private international university, is committed to the provision of education, research, and health care of international standard relevant to Pakistan and the region. The affiliated Aga Khan University Hospital (AKUH) has well-equipped investigative services and provides state-of-the-art clinical facilities. AKUH is the first hospital in Pakistan to be awarded the prestigious Joint Commission International Accreditation (JCIA) for practicing the highest internationally recognized healthcare standards.
The Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at The Aga Khan University is a dynamic academic center which serves the diagnostic needs of the country through its clinical laboratory services that spreads across Pakistan. AKUH’s Clinical Laboratory is College of American Pathologists (CAP) accredited and caters to the need of the entire country through its tertiary lab at the main campus and 300+ specimen collection units and 13 stat labs across Pakistan.
The Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine consists of five major sections namely Chemical Pathology, Haematology, Histopathology, Microbiology, and Molecular Pathology. Each section is academically driven and is highly engaged in research and undergraduate, postgraduate teaching and training.

Aga Khan University invites application for the position of Associate in the Department of Pathology & Laboratory Medicine.
Responsibilities:
You will be responsible for:
- Administration and coordination of Undergraduate (Year I and 2) Medical Education activities.
- Manage and coordinate the logistics of all examinations which include bookkeeping of venues, transportation, invigilators selections, external and internal examiners for examination of MBBA IA & IB.
- Maintaining and managing the records of evaluation of UG teaching activities for the faculty personnel file and department purpose.
- Assist the departmental question review committee to provide administrative support to enhance the quality questions submission in exam cell for the MBBS examination and submission of questions to Exam cell after approval from the Review Committee question.
- Sending the names of PBL- facilitators, module members to the curriculum office after discussing it with Director education.
- Directly corresponding with Department of education Development (DED) for scheduling of examination, Education related meetings, Examination result and educational courses.
- Timely information to faculties regarding LCFs sessions, PBL facilitation, Lab sessions, Module and facilitators meetings and any other educational activities in the department through emails, calendars, and personal diaries.
- Upload and manage faculty's LCFs/Lab PowerPoint slides, pre-reading materials, quizzes, formative assessments, and important student-related announcements on the VLE.
- Assist in module committee meetings, including those for PBL facilitators, question review, and pre-hoc etc.
- Provide admin and logistical support in organizing the Anatomy Practical Exam (APEx), including designing the layout, spotting, student grouping, rotation management, and time scheduling.
- Plan and execute all tasks related to the Year I Mock Viva exam, including mandatory student registration, groupings, instructions, examiners arrangements and their pairing, preparing viva files etc.
- Able to coordinate with both BBS and PLM faculty/ Manager for smooth execution of assigned tasks.
- Arrange multimedia, venues and other logistics for the meetings /lectures/sessions.
- Help faculty to make graphical presentations and preparation of lectures.
- Comply with any other job assigned by the director Education /Manager
Requirements:
You should have:
- A minimum of Bachelors degree in relevant field, Masters will be preferred.
- A minimum of one to two years of relevant experience.
- Good interpersonal skills.
- Proficient in use of Computer packages e.g., MS Office.
- Ability to meet tight deadlines.
- Good English writing skills including the ability to prepare minutes of the meeting.
