Introduction:

Aga Khan University, chartered in 1983 as Pakistan's first private international university, is committed to the provision of education, research, and health care of international standard relevant to Pakistan and the region. The affiliated Aga Khan University Hospital (AKUH) has well-equipped investigative services and provides state-of-the-art clinical facilities. AKUH is the first hospital in Pakistan to be awarded the prestigious Joint Commission International Accreditation (JCIA) for practicing the highest internationally recognized healthcare standards.

The Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at The Aga Khan University is a dynamic academic center which serves the diagnostic needs of the country through its clinical laboratory services that spreads across Pakistan. AKUH’s Clinical Laboratory is College of American Pathologists (CAP) accredited and caters to the need of the entire country through its tertiary lab at the main campus and 300+ specimen collection units and 13 stat labs across Pakistan.

The Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine consists of five major sections namely Chemical Pathology, Haematology, Histopathology, Microbiology, and Molecular Pathology. Each section is academically driven and is highly engaged in research and undergraduate, postgraduate teaching and training.

This is a short term contractual position.

Responsibilities:

You will be responsible for:

  1. Research Implementation

    1. Assist in development and refinement of qualitative research protocols

    2. Contribute to preparation of ethics submissions and regulatory documentation

    3. Support development of interview guides and data collection tools

  2. Data Management

    1. Maintain accurate records of study participants and research activities

    2. Organize and maintain secure qualitative datasets according to institutional policies

  3. Data Analysis

    1. Assist with qualitative and quantitative data analysis.

    2. Support use of qualitative analysis software (e.g., NVivo, Atlas.ti)

  4. Reporting and Dissemination

    1. Assist in preparation of research reports, manuscripts, and conference abstracts

    2. Support preparation of presentations and summaries of research findings

Requirements:

You should have:

  • Bachelor’s degree, master’s will be preferred.

  • 1-2 years of relevant experience

  • Good communication and interpersonal Skills

  • Good customer orientation

  • Good English writing skills including the ability to prepare minutes of the meeting.

  • Proficient in use of Computer packages e.g., MS Office

  • Ability to meet tight deadlines.
