This position helps make gospel teachings, resources, or services accessible to all in a simple and affordable way, supporting the mission of the Church.

The Manager of Process Improvement is responsible for LEAN production system design, effective problem-solving techniques, the design and management of performance improvement initiatives, training and coaching of personnel in all of the above, and advising the senior executives on the nature and progress of network wide improvement activities. This position will conduct investigations, analyze information and facilitate production teams dealing with issues associated with quality. Additionally, this position will coordinate and strategically lead and implement approved process improvement efforts identified by the specific site, by the company or by the LEAN Team.

Responsibilities

  • Develops, implements and standardizes a comprehensive process improvement program based on all Lean management tools
  • Assists leaders in developing a Lean Roadmap to use in the deployment of strategic objectives
  • Facilitates Root Cause Analysis workshops, Risk Analysis, Error Proofing events, and Lean events
  • Assists leadership in the troubleshooting and analysis of opportunities to rapidly identify, evaluate, propose, and implement solutions
  • Conducts operational audits to identify areas of opportunity across the business
  • Assists leadership in establishing appropriate measurement systems to identify opportunities and to quantify implemented improvements
  • Leads direct reports in performance of their duties including coaching on continuous improvement principles and leadership skills and ensuring projects are completed in a timely manner
  • Provide detailed, actionable feedback to local management teams to ensure clear understanding of the goals and objectives while assisting the larger organization in establishing reasonable and achievable goals.
  • Teach and use statistical analysis to identify, address and control process issues

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Manufacturing. Minimum of five years functional process improvement experience in a manufacturing plant environment, or similar.
  • Proficient at using problem solving tools and performing root cause analysis. Lean/Six Sigma skills are required.
  • Demonstrated experience in selecting and working with a wide range of Continuous Improvement tools (e.g. Value Stream Mapping; LEAN; Six Sigma; Root Cause Analysis; and Theory of Constraints etc.) as well as other creative problem solving skills.
  • A Demonstrated proficiency in process improvement methodology and use of investigative tools (e.g. Cause and Effect Diagrams; Trend Analysis; Capability Analysis; Control Charts; and Pareto Charting, etc.).
  • Ability to analyze data, discover trends, and determine solutions based on findings, develop reports using data.
  • Ability to think creatively and strategically and take a proactive and aggressive goal setting approach to assist in developing a lean culture.
  • Strong Leadership and Interpersonal skills-ability to work in a matrix organization and effectively lead without direct positional authority.
  • Strong communication (verbal and documentation), teamwork skills, presentation techniques and skills, and ability to write clear and concise technical documentation is required.
  • Self-motivated, highly organized with demonstrated ability to work multiple projects concurrently.
  • Strong computer skills, proficient in MS office suite, and advanced Excel experience.
  • Ability to effectively prioritize and manage multiple activities and responsibilities. Hands on experience with Risk Assessment, Reliability Engineering and/or Product/Process Validation are preferred.
  • Ability to keep clear and accurate records and reports and manage paper and electronic files methods.
  • Ability to use or learn Power BI for data extraction and report developments.
