Overview

This position is primarily for educational or religious purposes and should be used for providing valuable educational experiences for the Intern. It is to give the Intern an opportunity to see how principles and practices learned in their educational institutions are applied in actual work setting. Under general supervision, the Intern performs work as assigned by the accounting department.

This position will be full time.

This is a hybrid position with 3 days per week being in-office and 2 days per week being remote.

This position will have a duration of twelve months.

Responsibilities

  • The Intern receives assignments from supervising staff. The Manager reviews the Intern's work occasionally. The supervisor reviews each assignment as it is completed.

  • The Intern is expected to meet rigid and challenging deadlines, work in harmony with other people, take direction on each assignment, and give full attention to detail.

  • Independence in working, tact, and diplomacy are required.

  • Sound judgment of Church doctrine, history, organization, policy and protocol are also expected.

  • Assist in preparing and analyzing budgets and financial statements, identifying trends, anomalies, and areas of potential concern.

  • Collect, organize, and analyze financial and operational data from diverse sources such as operating statements, account ledgers, project tracking systems, and work order reports.

  • Create data visualizations, charts, dashboards, and management reports in Power BI to communicate key insights to parties and support decision-making.

  • Apply statistical techniques and predictive analytics to anticipate future financial and operational needs.

  • Ensure data integrity and compliance with financial regulations such as Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).

  • Develop and maintain automated data and reporting tools using Python, SQL, or other relevant technologies.

  • Support internal control reviews by providing accurate and timely financial data and documenting processes.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand data requirements and support data-driven solutions.

  • Recommend data-driven corrective actions and adjustments based on analytical findings.

  • Draft technical documentation and process guides for data models, analysis workflows, and data governance.

  • Audit data projects for compliance with internal standards and correspond with appropriate parties to address any issues or gaps.

Requirements

  • Paid Interns are qualified while enrolled in an educational institution and for one year following graduation.

  • They must sign a Paid Internship Engagement Letter.

  • Spanish Speaking is preferred.
