About the Role

Role Purpose:
The Wealth Management Specialist will be responsible for working with Universal RMs to support business originated through the branch network, equipping RMs with private wealth expertise, and independently originating and managing relationships with High-Net-Worth Individuals (HNWIs), Ultra-High-Net-Worth Individuals (UHNWIs), and institutional clients.

Serves as a pivotal technical expert driving delivery of sophisticated wealth management solutions, enabling personalized investment strategies for mass-affluent and high-net-worth clients across East Africa. Combines technical expertise with relationship-building skills to integrate into a collaborative environment where commercial banking meets specialized investment services.

Key Responsibilities:
Business Development and Origination - Develop and execute strategies to originate new wealth management clients independently.
Client Advisory and Relationship Management - Provide comprehensive advisory services, including portfolio management, tax optimization, succession planning, and philanthropic structuring.
Supporting Universal RMs Across the Branch Network - Partner with Universal RMs to identify and develop wealth management opportunities within their client base
Capacity Building and Training - Enhance the technical capabilities of Universal RMs by delivering structured learning programs on private wealth solutions and global best practices.
Product and Market Expertise - Collaborate with product teams to ensure offerings are competitive, innovative, and tailored to the unique needs of clients in Sub-Saharan Africa.
Compliance and Execution - Ensure all client engagements and transactions adhere to EIB’s compliance standards and regulatory requirements.

Experience requirements:
• Minimum of 7–10 years of experience in wealth management, private banking, or financial advisory roles, ideally with regional or international exposure.
• Demonstrable success in originating and managing relationships with HNWIs and UHNWIs.

Academic qualifications and certifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in finance, Economics, Business Administration, or related fields. A Master’s degree, MBA, or professional certifications (CFA, CIFA, CISI) preferred.

• Client Advisory Excellence : Proven ability to deliver personalized solutions that reflect a deep understanding of client needs.
• Market and Product Expertise : Extensive knowledge of global and regional financial markets and wealth management products.
• Collaboration and Leadership : Strong interpersonal skills to work effectively with Universal RMs and other internal stakeholders.
• Business Acumen : Track record of growing AUM and generating revenue through strategic business development.
• Training and Mentorship : Ability to enhance the skills and capabilities of Universal RMs through effective training and support.
• Professional Integrity: Commitment to maintaining the highest standards of discretion, compliance, and ethical conduct
