The Department of Dentistry and Oral Health Sciences provides comprehensive oral healthcare services and specialized care in the fields of Orthodontics, Prosthodontics, Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, and Operative Dentistry-Endodontics. The department is also proud to offer a well-structured undergraduate programme in Associate of Science in Dental Hygiene which is focused on the preventive oral healthcare.

Aga Khan University invites applications for the position of Senior Instructor (Research), Department of Dentistry.

Responsibilities:

You will be responsible to:

• support faculty and residents in designing, executing, and publishing research projects.
• provide expertise in epidemiology or biostatistics, with a focus on study design and data analysis.
• assist in the design of surgical research studies and support data collection and analysis.
• contribute to the writing and submission of manuscripts for peer-reviewed journals.
• coordinate with institutional research offices to ensure compliance and secure necessary approvals.
• manage departmental registries and research databases.
• conduct regular research workshops to build research capacity and promote a culture of research excellence.
• contribute to achieving departmental and institutional KPIs related to publications and grant acquisition.

Requirements:

You should have:

• BDS, MSc in Epidemiology and Biostatistics/MSc Public Health, and/or PhD in Basic and Medical Sciences.
• at least three to four years of relevant experience in any reputable organization is a preference.
• excellent knowledge of research methodologies and data analysis techniques.
• proficiency in the use of computer applications, particularly MS Office and other relevant software packages for data entry and analysis.
• excellent interpersonal skills, particularly communication skills.
• ability to effectively work independently as well as in teams and establish harmonious working relations at the workplace.
• ability to multi-task, manage time effectively and prioritize assignments as per timelines.
